The Launch
We wanted our launch event to really embody what we are all about; it had to be accessible to all, unpretentious, fun & informative. We put together the debut exhibition for extremely talented local multi material artist Tyler Remike.
At just 19 years old this south Londoner had produced pieces using toast, cannabis, vodka, apples as well as some amazingly intricate & life like pencil drawings.
Many of his followers were, self admittedly not fans of traditional art galleries so we decided to incorporate a live DJ as well as having Tyler create a piece live at the event to give this exhibition a fun & accessible feel.
Tyler's previous live art creation YouTube videos we also looped on a screen throughout the event so that people could see how some of the hanging pieces had been created.
Using the Great Eastern Bear Gallery space in Shoreditch, chosen for its intimate size & accessible location (just round the corner from Box Park) the event had more of a house party feel than a clinical gallery feel which was ideal for Tyler’s pieces to really shine.
Since the exhibition, Tyler has been asked to commission pieces in the UK & abroad; he has donated a piece to the TFL charity art auction & has now released a clothing line.
